What are Macros?

Macros allow a user to record a complex series of actions and store them to be recalled in a single button press. For example, if you had to fill out multiple forms all with the same information, you could store your name/address/phone/etc and create a macro to fill in the information whenever you hit a specified key. How can I use Macros to Merge Game Languages?

A game such as The Sims contains an enormous amount of language data, however it is well organized and often very similar. For example, look at the following data from the 'needs' subpanel:

Num
English
Spanish
1
Hunger
Hambre
2
A refrigerator is the first stop for hungry Sims. The kitchen appliances you buy them affect the quality of the food they prepare. They can also call for pizza if they don't feel like cooking.
3
Energy
Energía
4
There is nothing like a good night's sleep to restore a sagging energy bar. For a short-term fix, try a nap on the couch or a hot cup of coffee.
5
Comfort
Comodidad
6
Sims need to be comfortable. If there isn't a comfy chair or couch to sit on or a nice hot bath to relax in this need can get mighty low.

Lets, say you wanted to create a version of The Sims in which the first line of the English version would be appended to the end of the Spanish, as a small hint to make sure learners got the overall picture of what they were reading:

Hint: A refrigerator is the first stop for hungry Sims.

One possibility would be to cut and paste the first sentence of each English passage onto the end of the Spanish, however this could get time consuming with all the different passages used in the game. Rather, you would create a macro such that you simply click on the first item and hit "f6". The macro would then search for the end of the sentence, cut it, switch to the Spanish version, add "hint:", paste it and repeat the procedure throughout the section.
